Graphic Design majors present Who We Are
FOR RELEASE: Wednesday, April 16, 2003
Huntington, Ind. " Huntington College art majors Jason Boothman, James Hogg and Alison Winger will present Who We Are, an exhibition of senior works, in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery at Huntington College from April 21 " May 2. The exhibit represents each student's completion of a Bachelor of Art degree in graphic design. An artist reception will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 6-8 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend, free of charge.
Boothman, a native of Camden, Mich., will display various posters representing biblical verses as well as a suite of works for the group, Sevenglory. Boothman's works synthesize his design skills with his creative and religious disposition.
Hogg, a native of Webberville, Mich., will include artwork heavily influenced by his passion for skateboarding. Hogg believes there is a void in the skateboarding industry for Christian art and influence. Because of this, he will exhibit several mockups of skateboards that he designed, as well as a website and business stationary for Plank Designs, a skateboard company he has created.
Winger, a native of Columbia City, Ind., will present an exhibit strongly influenced by her work with Youth for Christ. Her exhibit includes a series of informational brochures as well as a demonstration of her skills in a marketing campaign. Winger feels privileged to help Youth for Christ communicate its message to the surrounding areas.
The Robert E. Wilson Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., before and after all Merillat Centre performances, and by appointment. Admission is free. For further information, contact Rebecca Coffman at (260) 359-4272.
