HC communication students present at Butler

Huntington, Ind. " Ten Huntington College students enrolled in the Communication Research Methods class recently presented original research at the Butler University Undergraduate Research Conference. Dr. Michael Rowley, associate professor of communication at Huntington College and instructor of the class, said the students' quality and quantity of research was excellent.
Huntington College appeared to be a very dominant force within the field of communication, said Rowley. This is the first year students from the Communications Department participated at this event, and they left very positive first impressions.

Joanna Shenk, a junior oral communication major from Goshen, Ind., presented, An examination of the parent-child relationship upon entering college.
Annie Zeller, a senior oral communication major from Spring Arbor, Mich., presented, Everybody wants to be beautiful.
Jennifer Stalter, a senior public relations major from Kokomo, Ind., presented, Does a couple's degree of commitment to Christianity affect their dating relationship?
Brooke Welch, a senior media communication major from Berne, Ind., presented, Does the dress of an individual affect people's perception of that person?
Audra Engle, a senior oral communication major from Decatur, Ind., presented, Roles of seating location.
Jill Hilterbrand, a junior communication studies major from Fort Sill, Okla., presented, Self-esteem.
Michele Saylor, a senior media communication major from Salem, Wis., presented, Who's listening closer?
Jason Atkinson, a senior media communication major from Indianapolis, Ind., presented, An examination of how class, gender and major in school affect a person's choice of news source.
Todd Picken, a senior public relations major from West Jefferson, Ohio, presented, Dressed for success.
Spencer Owen, a senior communication studies major from Rochester, Ill., presented, Relational dialects in a pushmi-pullyu marriage.
