HU professors participate in local art show

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University's Rebecca Coffman and Ken Hopper will be among the featured artists showcased this weekend in Art Depot, an art show and sale that is part of the local community's JeFFFest. Fittingly, Art Depot will be located in the train depot building at 11 West State Street in downtown Huntington. The event will take place Friday, June 20, from 2 to 11 p.m.; Saturday, June 21, from 12:30 to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, June 22, from 2 to 6:30 p.m.
Art Depot will offer original drawings, paintings, pottery, sculpture, hand-made jewelry and hand-painted furniture. In addition to Coffman and Hopper, featured local artists include Jamie Stoffel, Betty Heffelfinger, Helga Johnson, Vicki Dalman, Teri Fuller-O'Brien, among others.
Coffman is professor of art at Huntington University. Her colleague, William K. "Ken" Hopper, serves as associate professor of art and department chair.
Art is one of more than 70 academic programs offered by Huntington University. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest. Founded in 1897 by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, Huntington University is located on a contemporary, lakeside campus in northeast Indiana. The University is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).
