HU to host Third Annual Band Invitational

Huntington, Ind. "The Huntington University Wind Ensemble, Crestview Middle School Band and Huntington North High School Band will come together on Tuesday, October 11 for Huntington University's Third Annual Band Invitational Concert. The downbeat is at 7:00 p.m., in the Merillat Centre for the Arts' Zurcher Auditorium. No tickets are necessary for this free concert. Featured music for the concert includes His Honor by Henry Fillmore, Variations on an American Hymn and Distant Thunder of the Sacred Forest by Michael Sweeney, the Grand Marshal March by Red Skelton, Bravada Esprit by David Shafer, Edwin Bagley's National Emblem march, Frank Ticheli's Amazing Grace, and Gustav Holst's Second Suite in F for Military Band.
The Huntington University Wind Ensemble is directed by Scott Hippensteel, instructor in music. Douglas McElhaney serves as director for the Crestview Middle School Band. Thaine Campbell and John Gardner are directors for the Huntington North High School Band.
