Huntington art professor wins first place award

Huntington, Ind.-Ken Hopper, assistant professor of art at Huntington University, recently won first place in "The Village Seen Paint Out" event, sponsored by the SullivanMunce Cultural Center of Zionsville, Ind.

Hopper was awarded $100 for his painting of a house along Zionsville's Main Street.

He was one of 15 artists who participated in the event to demonstrate the practice of open-air painting.

Hopper earned his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Arts from Ball State University. He is working toward a doctorate in art education at Purdue University. While teaching at Huntington University, Hopper has collaborated on designing numerous tickets, brochures, and posters for various music and theater productions. He is a member of the Mid-America Print Council and the National Art Education Association.
