Huntington theatre presents A Shayna Maidel

Huntington, Ind. " The Huntington College theatre department will present a dramatic performance entitled A Shayna Maidel, running January 30 " February 1, 2003. The performance, which portrays a Jewish family after the Holocaust, will begin each night at 9 p.m. in the Merillat Centre for the Arts. All seats are general admission and available at the door for $2.

The story takes place in 1946 in a stylish Manhattan apartment of Rose Weiss. Rose, born in Poland and now in her 20's, came to the United States with her father at the age of four, and is now completely Americanized. Her father awaits the arrival of his elder daughter, Luisa, who has, at last, found her way to America. Distraught, and concerned that she may never be reunited with her young husband, Luisa embraces a series of memories and fantasies which make real the joys and horrors of her life before the war, from which her father and sister were spared.
