Huntington to add three online degree programs

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University soon will add three degree programs to its online offerings. Adult students may pursue an associate degree in organizational management or bachelor's degrees in accounting or business management through the university's online delivery system.

The Higher Learning Commission extended the university's accreditation to the new programs on June 25.

The first fully online program offered will be the Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a major in not-for-profit leadership. Although the official launch of this online program will be in January 2010, some online courses leading to this degree are being offered this fall.

"Online education is an exciting venture for Huntington University," said Dr. G. Blair Dowden, president. "I look forward to the further development of our online programs. With careful planning and state-of-the-art technology, we can dissolve geographic barriers and make Huntington University's high-quality, Christ-centered programs available to greater numbers of students."

Huntington already offers a hybrid master's degree program in youth ministry leadership that has both online and in-class components. The university's online offerings also include some master's degree courses in other programs, including counseling, education and ministry.

Adult students interested in online courses or programs should call Susan Frantz, assistant director of marketing for the EXCEL Adult Degree Programs, at (260) 359-4198.
