Huntington to host IAC grants workshop

Huntington, Ind.-The Indiana Arts Commission recently announced that it will collaborate in presenting a grants workshop for individual artists residing in Region 3. The IAC's Region 3 includes Allen, De Kalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Miami, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties.

The workshop will be held Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Huntington University Merillat Centre for the Arts, 2303 College Avenue, Huntington.

The workshop is intended for those individual artists interested in applying for the IAC's Individual Artist Program. Artists will learn tips on how to write a successful grant application. Artists may apply for non-matching grants of up to $2,000 from this program.

While the workshop is free of charge, advance registration is required. Registration deadline is December 13.

Eligible projects may be in the areas of dance, theater, music, crafts, literature, media-arts, photography, folk and multi-arts, design, and visual arts. Applicants must be 18 years of age, must not be enrolled in high school or a degree-granting program, must be an Indiana resident for at least one year prior to application, and plan to remain in the state of Indiana for the full grant period. Applicants may not have received an IAP grant in the previous grant cycle. All funded projects must be completed between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
