Huntington University faculty, students to shoot film

Huntington, Ind. "Dr. Lance Clark, associate professor of communication, will direct a short live action film as part of a digital filmmaking course at Huntington University.

Students will serve in all the major production roles. Clark is set to shoot the film titled Return during Huntington University's May term class session beginning May 17 through June 3, 2006.

Clark sees this film as a community venture. In late April, Huntington native Tom Mills joined on as the film's producer, and one of the lead actors, Kelly Berggren, also is from Huntington. Art direction is in the hands of Warren resident Bart Willard.

Clark and his band of film studies students and community crew will set forth on a digital filmmaking journey that will tell the story of a father's struggle to rescue his abducted daughter. Shooting will take place in Huntington and Warren, Ind.

Clark said that many extras are needed for a church service scene on Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Those interested in volunteering to be extras may contact Clark at Huntington University by calling (260) 359-4281.

This is Clark's first live action directing debut. Clark, an award winning event director, has been shooting corporate and event videography as well as non-profit video since 1992. He owns and operates his own production company, L.C. Media, and hopes this short film will open up doors for longer live action projects in the near future.
