Huntington University to host grade-school health tour

Huntington, Ind.-

What: Five hundred fourth graders from Huntington County Schools will be on campus for a health and wellness tour. The program is designed to provide students with awareness about the state of their health and teach them healthy lifestyle behaviors. The health tour will offer various health education activities plus several health screenings. The screenings include blood pressure, dental, height/weight and body mass index. The children will tour around 12 different stations. Some include...Weight Ville Wyoming, Pressure-burg Pennsylvania, and Walking West Virginia.

Sponsors of the health tour include the United Way, the YMCA, Parkview Huntington Hospital and Huntington University.

Participating schools include Andrews Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Horace Mann Elementary, Northwest Elementary, Roanoke Elementary, Flint Springs Elementary, Lancaster Elementary and Salamonie Elementary.

When: TODAY, Thursday, May 3, 2007 - There are 2 sessions: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Where: Huntington University in the Merillat Complex for Physical Education and Recreation
