Huntington University to present church music concert

Huntington, Ind. "The Huntington University Music Department will present Reflections, an evening of church music on Sunday, October 23, at College Park Church in Huntington. Four Huntington University music ensembles will share music to inspire inner reflection and the spirit of peace. The downbeat will occur at 7 p.m. No tickets are necessary. The Huntington University Chamber Orchestra, directed by Scott Hippensteel, will perform Haydn's Symphony No. 10, J.S. Bach's Sheep May Safely Graze, and the First Movement of Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G minor.
The Brass Ensemble, directed by Dr. Robert Lynn, will perform works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, and other selected hymns including Praise To The Lord and Achieved Is A Glorious Work.
The Women's Chorale, led by Benjamin Kendall, will perform various sacred choral works by Vivaldi, Bach, Mendelssohn, and Mozart. The Handbell Choir, directed by Darlene Burkett, will perform A Mighty Fortress Is Our God, the American spiritual, Deep River, and Spirit of God Descend Upon My Heart.
