Huntington’s chapter of Kappa Pi inducts 17 members

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University's chapter of Kappa Pi International Art Fraternity recently inducted 17 new members into the organization.

Each was invited to become a member of Kappa Pi because of special qualifications in art. Kappa Pi recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and also possess excellent studio art skills. As an organization, Kappa Pi supports the arts within the university and the community and seeks to promote a deeper appreciation of the arts among the public.

Kappa Pi was founded in 1911 at the University of Kentucky. In the intervening 97 years, 198 chapters have been installed in colleges and universities in many parts of the United States and abroad.

The Zeta Alpha Pi chapter was established at Huntington University to recognize and honor those who have excelled in the visual arts academically and creatively. It offers qualified art majors opportunities to become involved in activities, which further the goals of achievement in the visual arts and the purposes of the Department of Visual Arts, as well as, assist faculty members in developing an atmosphere conducive to providing the highest quality visual arts education.

Laura Hood, a junior graphic design major from Wadsworth, Ohio

Troy Huffman, a sophomore graphic design major from Angola, Ind.

Carita Landes, a sophomore graphic design major from Sheridan, Ind.

Janna Larimore, a junior graphic design major from Elizabeth, Ill.

Felicia Pettigrew, a sophomore graphic design major from Tower Hill, Ill.

Rebekah Raby, a junior graphic design major from Greenville, Ohio

Kirsten Sauder, a sophomore graphic design major from Grabill, Ind.

Jeannette Shively, a sophomore visual arts education major from Columbus, Ohio

Jamie Thurston, a junior graphic design major from Van Wert, Ohio

Joanna Stebing, a sophomore visual arts education major from Fort Wayne, Ind.

Julie Babb, a 2002 alumna with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from Huntington, Ind.

Rebekah Hubley, a 1999 alumna with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from Fort Wayne, Ind.

Lisa Ricker, a 1996 alumna with a Bachelor of Science degree in visual arts education from Huntington, Ind.
