Huntington’s Maria Rhodes to perform senior recital

Huntington, Ind. "Huntington University senior Maria Rhodes will perform her senior recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2006, in the Longaker Recital Hall at the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The recital is open to the public with no admission charge. Rhodes, a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance major from Celina, Ohio, is studying voice lessons under Prof. Amy Prickett. Selections from the recital include Nine German Arias by George Frideric Handel, Concert aria, K505: Ch'io mi scordi di te? by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and My Antonia by Libby Larsen.
Performance roles on the Huntington University stage include the witch in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, Laetitia in Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief, a daughter in Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance, and Virginia in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! Rhodes has been involved in concert choir, women's chorale, handbells, and wind ensemble while enrolled at Huntington University.
