HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University Peer Award recipients for November are Amy Johnson, mailing services coordinator, and Justin Spitler, sound and lighting coordinator.

The Peer Award, which began in 2003, promotes acknowledgment and recognition of the outstanding efforts of Huntington University faculty and staff members. Award winners are chosen and recognized each month by fellow peers.

Johnson was recognized by Susan Rahn, secretary for health services, because of everything that she does for the university, mostly unnoticed.

"When I have needed to contact her about various shipping concerns and inquiries, she's always been willing to help in any way she can," Rahn said. "I've observed her training students to assist her and found her to show them patience and calm guidance. I've appreciated her help and caring attitude over the years and I count myself blessed to know and work with her."

Spitler was recognized by Jodi Fiedler, administrative assistant to the dean of Christian faith and life, because of the countless hours that he spends behind the scenes making everything come together.

"He is often the main contact person to outside speakers and artists coming to our campus. I would not be able to do my job of getting chapels organized and up and running if it were not for Justin and his team of students," Fiedler said.
