Kiser receives Distinguished Service Award

Huntington, Ind. "The Huntington University Foundation's Distinguished Service Award was presented to Mr. Ned Kiser, vice president for Asian Access, at the Foundation's annual dinner last evening. Kiser was presented the award by Huntington University President, Dr. G. Blair Dowden, and Huntington University Foundation President, Dennis McNeely. At last evening's banquet, before a number of regional business leaders, McNeely read the following citation in honor of Kiser.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals of Huntington University who demonstrate distinguished service and high achievement over an extended period of time. The individuals who receive this award represent the ideals of Huntington University through their profession or through other areas of service. It is our privilege to present the 2005 Distinguished Service Award to Mr. Ned Kiser.
Mr. Kiser is honored today for his commitment to Christian higher education and his contributions to the development of an outstanding advancement operation at Huntington University. From 1995 to 2005, Mr. Kiser served as the Vice President for Advancement at Huntington University. This September, he began his current position as Vice President for Development with Asian Access, an interdenominational, evangelical mission agency.
Mr. Kiser's affiliation with Huntington University began in 1993, when he began two years of service as a trustee. In 1995, he was hired as Vice President for Advancement. Prior to coming to Huntington, Mr. Kiser served in the electronics industry in design engineering, engineering management, and general management. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering as well as a Master of Divinity degree.
As the University's Vice President for Advancement, Mr. Kiser headed the resource-development efforts of Huntington University and raised the visibility of the University throughout Northeast Indiana and the local community. During a decade of outstanding service at Huntington, Mr. Kiser's accomplishments included leading a successful $50 million capital campaign, strengthening community relationships, and attracting new donors to the University. He also developed the popular Visiting Executive Seminar series, and in 2004, he took on the responsibility of helping design, implement, and oversee the new Enterprise Resource Center.
In addition to his strong commitment to the University, Mr. Kiser has a rich history of service with the local Huntington community. He is a charter and continuing board member of both the Huntington County United Economic Development Corporation and Life-Long Learning of Huntington County. He also serves on the board of the Parkview Huntington Hospital Foundation and is a director of Markle Bank. Mr. Kiser will serve as the incoming chair of the Christian Stewardship Association (CSA), a professional association of leaders who develop resources for Christian ministries. He is active in church leadership, serving as chairman of the church council at College Park Church.
Mr. Kiser's service to the community has not gone unnoticed. In 2002, he was named Chief of the Flint Springs Tribe, the highest recognition for community service in Huntington County. In addition, Mr. Kiser's service to the University will not go unrecognized.
