Laboratory Safety Seminar to be held at Huntington College

Huntington, Ind. " Huntington College will present a Laboratory Safety Seminar on Monday, September 16, from 6:30 " 8 p.m. The Northeast Indiana Section of the American Chemical Society and the Laboratory Safety Committee of Huntington College provides support for the event. The seminar will be held in Hiner Lecture Auditorium located on the second floor of the newly-opened Science Hall.
Lisa Bognar, CHMM, CHO, a Chemical Safety Specialist from the University of Notre Dame, will present the seminar with the objective to present and discuss current laboratory safety issues and practices for science faculty, teachers, and students.
She will also promote dialogue and collaboration among area colleges and schools with regard to laboratory safety and hygiene. Topics will include current regulations for laboratory safety and hygiene, chemical and biological storage, hazardous waste, and emergency response in the educational laboratory. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

Non-student participants will be charged a $15 registration fee while members of the Northeast Indiana American Chemical society will be charged $7.50. All students may attend for free.
