Leadership Luncheon to feature Druhot

Huntington, Ind.-The Huntington University Center for Leadership will sponsor a Leadership Luncheon open to business and community leaders on April 30.

The luncheon will feature Scott Druhot of Biomet who has developed nationally accepted training programs for pharmaceutical companies. Because the Indiana State Senate is still in session, Sen. Travis Holdman, who was originally slated to speak at this luncheon, will present on May 28.

Druhot's presentation, titled "Strategic Leadership - Blocking and Tackling," is a response to the current economic and global uncertainty and its negative effects on leadership.

Druhot anticipates guests of the luncheon will gain a better understanding of leadership in its application and reality within today's marketplace.

"I'm going to cover strategy and leadership as well as employ resources and tools for the audience to utilize within their career," he said.

Druhot's areas of research include Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing, TQM, business strategies/marketing and training, and development.

The event will be held in the upper level of Habecker Dining Commons from noon to 1 p.m. The cost is $20, and it includes lunch. Discounts are available when two or more attend from the same business or organization. To register, call (800) 600-4888. Walk-ins also are accepted.

This luncheon is part of a series of luncheons that offered on the fourth Thursday of every month.

The Huntington University Center for Leadership has developed over the last year and has now found a home on the university's campus in the EXCEL Adult Degree Programs office. Under the direction of Dr. Rick Upchurch, director of the EXCEL program, the CFL plans to provide leadership training and resources to businesses, community leaders and pastors in northern Indiana.
