Leah Leland to perform senior recital

Huntington, Ind. "Huntington University senior Leah Leland will perform her senior recital at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006, in the Longaker Recital Hall at the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The recital is open to the public with no admission charge.

Leland, a native of Wabash, Ind., is pursuing a Bachelor's of Music in Instrumental Music Education with an emphasis in flute. Leland is a student of Janet McKay-Galbraith of Fort Wayne, Ind., and is also a member of many different music ensembles including Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Women's Chorale, and Handbell Choir. She has participated in extracurricular events, including pit orchestra for the productions of The 1940's Radio Hour, Pippin, The Pirates of Penzance, and Oklahoma!, as well as a community member in the production of The Messiah.

Upon completing her degree, Leland plans on teaching instrumental music at the junior high or high school level.
