Leeper receives research fellowship for an animated film project

Huntington, Ind. - Steve Leeper, assistant professor of digital media arts at Huntington University, has been selected as the recipient of the 2011 Huntington University Research Fellowship. He has proposed a film project titled "The Temptations of Brother Thomas." The animated film will address the false dichotomy between religious faith and the creative arts.
With Thomas Aquinas as its inspiration, the film draws from the legacy of art within the church in a variety of forms and challenges the modern assumption that true art needs to be cut loose from orthodox faith in order to flourish.
