Longaker Honors Recital to feature student musicians

Huntington, Ind.-The annual Longaker Honors Recital at Huntington University will showcase eight of the university's top musicians on April 17. The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The event is open to the public, and admission is free.
Each musician was chosen in a rigorous audition process. The performance includes two pianists, two guitarists and four vocalists. Performers include the following:
Ashlyn Brady, a sophomore soprano and choral education major from Macomb, Mich., will perform "Agnus Dei" by Beorges Bizet and "Ave Maria" by Franz Abt.
Derek DeRoo
Derek DeRoo, a junior tenor and choral education major from Zeeland, Mich., will perform "Im Fruhling" and "Der Wanderer" by Franz Shubert.
Patrick Harding, a junior guitarist and music-business major from Avilla, Ind., will perform "Milonga Del Angel" and "La Muerte Del Angel" by Astor Piazzolla.
Jennifer Jehl, a sophomore pianist and Bachelor of Arts in Music major from Fort Wayne, Ind., will perform "Impromptu in A flat Major, op. 90, No. 4" by Franz Schubert.
Brittany Lensing, a sophomore pianist and Bachelor of Arts in Music major from Cresco, Iowa, will perform "Preludes: Op. 11 No. 15, Op. 16 No. 4, Op. 11 No. 14" by Alexander N. Scriabin.
Patrick Harding
Theodore Stavrou, a junior guitarist and music-business major from Greencastle, Pa., will perform the "Usher Waltz, Op. 29" by Nikita Koshkin.
Anna Willard, a sophomore soprano and choral education major from Chesterton, Ind., will perform "L'Estasi" and "Il Bacio" by Luigi Arditi.
Sarah Yanovitch, a freshman soprano and vocal performance major from Griswold, Conn., will perform "Three Songs of Adieu" by Norman Dello Joio.
