Longaker Recital to feature 10 student performers

HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Annual Longaker Honors Recital will showcase 10 of the university's best musicians on March 28. The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.Each musician was selected through a meticulous audition process. The performance includes one pianist, one violinist, one flautist and six vocalists.
Performers include:
Brittany Blazier, a senior soprano choral education major of Ossian, Ind., will perform "No Word from Tom" and "Cabaletta" by Igor Stravinsky.
Osvaldo Gil, a sophomore baritone choral education major of Indianapolis, will perform "In der Fremde, Waldesgespäch," "Schöne Fremde," and "Frühlingsnacht" by Robert Schumann.
Haley Glinz, a sophomore soprano music major from Spring Arbor, Mich., will perform"Non so più cosa son" and "Voi che sapete" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Alyssa Kissell, a freshman mezzo-soprano music major from Huntington, Ind., will perform "Lullaby" and "Shall we ever see the end of all this" by Gian-Carlo Menotti.
James Knapp, a freshman pianist instrumental education major of North Hollywood, Calif., will perform "Toccata" by Aram Khachaturian.
YeRi Lee, a junior violinist music business major of the Peoples' Republic of China, will perform "Sonata No. 12 in D Minor, Op. 5" by Arcangelo Corelli.
Ye Ji Park, a freshman pianist elementary and special education major of the Republic of Korea, will perform "Chopin Nocturne in C sharp minor" and "Chopin Waltz no. 5 in A flat minor, op. 42" by Frederic Francois Chopin.
Audra Rittenhouse, a senior soprano music major from Huntington, Ind., will perform "The Silver Aria" and "Always Through the Changing" by Douglas Moore.
Preston Shafer, a sophomore tenor choral education major of Huntington, Ind., will perform "Wohin?" "Der Neugierige," and "Mein" by Franz Schubert.
Holly Stanley, a sophomore soprano choral education major of Huntington, Ind., will perform "Black Swan" and "Monica's Waltz" by Gian Carlo Menotti.
