Mayor Fetters Named HU Foundation 2017 Distinguished Service Award Recipient

The Huntington University Foundation will present Mayor Brooks Fetters with the Distinguished Service Award at their Foundation Annual Dinner. This award honors an individual or an organization whose life or mission embodies the very principles associated with the mission of the University.

"Brooks is as committed to Huntington University (HU) and the Huntington community as anyone possibly could be. As a two time HU alumni, HU Foundation Board member, HU Trustee, volunteer and servant leader Brooks goes above and beyond to help the University succeed as a vital element of the Huntington community.  Brooks represents through his daily actions and leadership all that the Foundation Distinguished Service Award stands for, and we are excited to select him as the 2017 recipient,” says Ed Vessels, Past President, Huntington University Foundation.

Fetters will be honored at the Huntington University Foundation Annual Dinner on September 21, 2017 at the Habacker Dining Commons at Huntington University. The dinner is at 5:30 pm. Reservations are required.

The Huntington University Foundation Annual Dinner brings together Foundation supporters, current students supported by the Foundation and the local community. The event will be a time to celebrate the accomplishments of the Foundation. The local foundation raises money for Huntington County residents to attend Huntington University.

The focus of this year’s event is talent attraction and why northeast Indiana and cities like Huntington need to retain the talent that they have. John Sampson, President/CEO of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership will be the featured speaker.

If interested in attending the dinner, please RSVP to Jan Yost, (260) 359-4046 or jyost@huntington.edu by Friday, September 15.
