Ministry and Missions Department to host visit day

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University has seen a dramatic increase in scheduled visits for the current year. With approximately 300 more visits this year compared to last, the Admissions Department has been encouraging prospective students to attend one of several group visit days. On Feb. 15, the Department of Ministry and Missions will host a departmental visit day. The department has scheduled a day of events to give prospective students and their parents the opportunity to learn more about the specific program. Visitors also will hear from several current students who have just returned from their PRIME (Practical Research and Immersion through Ministry Effectiveness).
"During this visit, students will get to meet all of the faculty in the department as well as get an idea of the ministry training and preparation Huntington has to offer," said Dr. Tom Bergler, assistant professor of ministry and missions.
Events for the day will include touring the campus, attending a chapel service, eating lunch with faculty and current students of the ministry and missions department, and participating in classes specific to the visitor's interests. During lunch, the professors have prepared several activities with a possibility of giveaways.
Although visitors will participate in the visitation day as a group, there will be time for individual meetings with the professors at the end of the day.
"Most of student's questions will be answered during the lunch question and answer time," said Bergler. "But the professors are eager to meet with students one on one to answer any further questions they may have."
Admissions counselors will wrap up the day by discussing the admissions process and financial aid with the students and their parents. Information regarding program requirements also will be discussed throughout the day.
