Music Department to present ‘Christmas Celebration’

Huntington, Ind.-Music to inspire the spirit of Christmas will be performed by four ensembles from the Huntington University Department of Music.

They will present an evening of Christmas music in a shared concert titled "A Christmas Celebration." The Wind Ensemble will perform excerpts from "The Nutcracker." The Brass Ensemble, with Dr. Robert Lynn, director, will perform "The Swingin' Sounds of Christmas." The Women's Chorale, under the direction of Joni Killian, will perform the traditional spiritual "Hush!," an Austrian carol "Still, Still, Still," along with other selections. The Handbell Choir, with Darlene Burkett, director, will perform "We Three Jazzy Kings" and "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy." A handbell quartet will perform "The Hallelujah Chorus."

The music will start at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.
