New professor to present Homecoming art exhibit

Huntington, Ind. " The Robert E. Wilson Gallery of the Merillat Centre for the Arts will present a Homecoming Art Exhibit featuring works by Huntington College's new assistant professor of art, Elizabeth Frey-Davis. The exhibition will open with a reception for Frey-Davis on Saturday, October 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The show will continue at the Wilson Gallery through October 29, 1999. The exhibition, "Traces of Genesis - Drawings, Paintings and Printmaking by Elizabeth Frey-Davis," will include mixed media drawings, oil paintings and mono-prints. Frey-Davis studied at Houghton College and Virginia Commonwealth University. Her artistic emphases have been painting and printmaking. She has had adjunct teaching appointments on the collegiate level and has most recently served on the art faculty of the Academy of St. Elizabeth in New Jersey. Within the past three years, Frey-Davis's works have been exhibited in five states and at the Skopje Art Gallery in Macedonia.
The reception on October 2 will include a lobby concert by classical guitarist Mike Brennan, adjunct professor of music at Huntington College. Brennan holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in classical guitar performance from California State University, Fullerton. He is a member of Pi Kappa Lamda, a professional honors fraternity for musicians. He has been teaching for nine years both privately and in the classroom, including Mt. San Antonio College in Pomona, CA and at the Cincinnati Bible College.
The Robert E. Wilson Gallery is located in the Merillat Centre for the Arts on the campus of Huntington College, 2303 College Avenue, in Huntington. The Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no charge for admission. For further information, call (260) 359-4261.
