O’Donnell releases ‘Shortest Investment Book Ever’

Huntington, Ind.-James O'Donnell, associate professor in business and executive-in-residence at Huntington University, has released a new book titled "The Shortest Investment Book Ever: Wall Street Secrets for Making Every Dollar Count."

O'Donnell hopes the book will help readers develop and gain a better understanding about how to invest and prepare for retirement. The book provides information about the issues related to investing options, expected returns, risk, diversification, fees, and other aspects related to saving for retirement.

"My book is meant for the millions of people across America who save, like you and I do, for retirement through payroll deduction 401(k) and 403(b) plans," O'Donnell said. "I have found a dearth of unbiased information on helping some 60 million American workers who save for retirement through payroll plans."

O'Donnell explained that as a result of confusion about options available to employees, fees, and ways to save, some may feel the need to hire a personal financial advisor. However, he believes that his book will provide the answers employees are seeking, without the strain and expense of hiring an advisor.

"While the adviser may still be helpful, my book is a short, helpful, low-cost, unbiased, easy-to-understand resource for both the novice and the more experienced employee seeking to know what to do and what not to do with retirement savings choices," O'Donnell said.

While recent market events have left no one unharmed, O'Donnell's book offers the retirement saver a disciplined way both to withstand the market's worst harm and, in time, a path along which to recover.

O'Donnell earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his MBA from Columbia University. He is a certified public accountant and spent many years as an executive in the financial services industry with such firms as Fidelity Investments and the Dreyfus Corporation in Boston and New York, respectively.

Published by Northfield Publishing in Chicago, "The Shortest Investment Book Ever" is now available at booksellers nationwide and through Amazon.com.

This is O'Donnell's third book. His others, "Letters for Lizzie" and "Walking with Arthur" gained national coverage in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Christianity Today, and numerous other publications.
