Preeminence to tour Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions

Huntington, Ind. " Huntington College will send a traveling group of talented student musicians to tour the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions throughout the summer. Preeminence will present approximately 60 performances between May 29 and August 14, 2004, to various churches, camps and conferences.

Preeminence presents a fun-filled, praise-worthy worship experience for all to enjoy. The group combines the talents of 12 gifted musicians to share the Good News of the Gospel and bring honor and glory to God.

I am looking forward to meeting new congregations, said Ben Kendall, director of Preeminence. Through our performance, we want each congregation to sense the universal purpose and passion of serving 'one Lord' as is mentioned in the book of Ephesians.

With a mix of up-beat praise music, soulful worship songs and contemporary Christian music, Preeminence will lift the spirits of young and old alike. The music will combine talented voices with keyboard, drums, guitars and more while performing songs that have been recorded by Anointed, Avalon, First Call, Selah, The Martins, Rich Mullins, and others. They will also perform a cappella numbers that are more choral in nature along with Southern Gospel songs. In addition to the music, the group members will share testimony of God's grace in their lives as well as some zany comedy.

Director Ben Kendall comes from Branson, Mo., where he grew up in the Ozark Hills entertainment industry. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. He went on to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, to receive the Master of Music in Conducting while serving as Associate Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas. Since then, he has been a missionary to Spain where he was the music leader for the 2001 Spanish National Youth Convention. In addition to teaching at Huntington College, Kendall is involved with the Pulse Opera House in Warren, Ind. He has performed as a solo artist in Norway, Spain, Portugal, and the Bahamas and has conducted choirs in Hong Kong, China and Korea.
