HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University Peer Award recipients for October are Dr. Evelyn Priddy, professor of education, and Steve Pozezanac, director of Merillat Centre for the Arts and conference events.
Dr. Carla MacDonald, associate professor of social work, passed the Peer Award to Priddy.
"Dr.
Evelyn Priddy has been supportive to me as a colleague and professor
mentor during my entire time at Huntington University," Mac Donald said.
"She has shared classroom ideas, prayer support, guidance with tenure
and promotion, and confidence during time of transition. Dr. Priddy has
been someone I can turn to at any time."
Tom King, track and field coach, passed the award to Pozezanac.
"As
we were preparing for our first track and field meet in several years
on our campus, we sought Steve's guidance in locating a sound system
that would serve our needs for a large audience of 1,500 to 2,000
people," King said. "Steve got us several quotes and led us in the right
directions for the event. He also picked-up the equipment for us from
Fort Wayne when he was coming to campus, had two trained students assist
in setting up the equipment on Friday and taking the equipment down in
the evening. … I am sure Steve does this everyday in helping people on
campus and the community, but this was a special time for some of us and
was especially helpful."
The Peer Award, which began in 2003,
promotes acknowledgment and recognition of the outstanding efforts of
Huntington University faculty and staff members. Award winners are
chosen and recognized each month by fellow peers.
