Rebekah Nimtz swaps roles with President Dowden

Huntington, Ind. "Today, Rebekah Nimtz, a senior English major from Cromwell, Ind., has the privilege of serving as president-for-a-day at Huntington University. Rebekah Nimtz, Huntington University's president-for-a-day, enjoys her new office.
Nimtz was the winner of Operation Switch with a President, a Student Senate fundraiser to help raise money for the Fund Allocation Committee, a group that supports various student-centered events.
Student Senate seeks to build strong relationships with the administration and faculty of Huntington University and to establish traditions on campus for the student population. This is the sixth time President Dr. G. Blair Dowden and the Senate have partnered together to sponsor the annual Operation SWAP.
Nimtz will spend her day meeting with key members of the local and campus community. Her schedule will be as follows:
7:30 a.m. Breakfast with Mrs. Chris Dowden, wife of the president
9 a.m. Spend time in the office and become acquainted with staff.
10 a.m. Chapel
11 a.m. Meet with Jeff Berggren, VP for Enrollment Management and
Marketing.
Noon Lunch with area trustees
2 p.m. Meet with Troy Irick, VP for Advancement.
3 p.m. Meet with Dr. Norris Friesen, VP and Dean of the University.
4 p.m. Wrap up the day. Invite friends to stop by.
Dr. G. Blair Dowden takes part in a discussion in Rebekah Nimtz's Advanced Composition class.
Dowden will fulfill a typical Tuesday in Nimtz's life. He is scheduled to attend Creative Writing at 8:30 a.m., Chapel at 10 a.m., Advanced Composition at 12:30 p.m., and Laboratory for Chemistry at 3 p.m.
Nimtz is the daughter of Steve and Melody Nimtz. She has been involved in national honor scholarship society Alpha Chi, traveling student musician group Preeminence, and student newspaper The Huntingtonian. She was a Presidential Scholar and has been on the Dean's List.
Dowden participates in Laboratory for Chemistry with a fellow student.
