Rebranding of Forester Fund increases giving

HUNTINGTON, Ind. A successful rebranding of Huntington University's scholarship fund earlier this year has yielded a 6 percent increase in giving.

The Forester Fund was established to underwrite scholarships used for institutional aid. Each year, more than 90 percent of Huntington students receive some sort of financial aid. Much of that aid comes in the form of scholarships provided by the Forester Fund.

"At Huntington University, we are the Foresters. The rebranding of this fund was the perfect way to promote giving in a way that will directly impact our students," said Vincent Haupert, vice president for advancement.

Scholarships financed by the Forester Fund include the Presidential Scholar award, departmental scholarships, the Horizon Leadership scholarship and the Huntington University Grant. Awards range from $500 to $11,000. In all, $7 million is awarded each year in institutional aid.

"Any donation people make to the Forester Fund is invaluable because it all adds up. Most of us couldn't be here without it," said Brian Menzie, a sophomore youth ministries major.
