Schwartz earns Best of Show at 13th Annual Student Art Exhibit

Huntington, Ind. " Christopher Gantz, assistant professor of art at IPFW, recently served as the guest juror for the Huntington College 13th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit, held in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery. Huntington College art students created the exhibit of works during the current school year. Brandon Schwartz, a junior art education major from Brooklyn, Mich., received the Best of Show award for his ceramic piece, 8-Legged Vessel.

The Robert E. Wilson Purchase Award went to Christy Harris, a junior graphic design major from New Berlin, Wis., for her photograph, Lonely Swing. Scott Cooper, a junior fine art major from Huntington, Ind., earned second place overall with his print, City Street. Jessica Williams, a senior graphic design major from Huntington, Ind., won third place overall with her oil painting, Untitled Series of 3.

The following students earned Outstanding Achievement in specific divisions:

Drawing " Scott Cooper, a junior fine art major from Huntington, Ind., for Christ Suffering

Painting " Brandon Schwartz, a junior art education major from Brooklyn, Mich., for Still Life with Red Cloth

Printmaking " Rachel Kraus, a senior art education major from Greenville, Ohio, for Summer Satisfaction

Photography " Amanda Hamblin, a senior graphic design major from North Manchester, Ind., for Mouthwater Jiggle

Ceramics " Amy Griffin, a senior fine art major from Huntington, Ind., for Large Tea Can

Graphic Design " Josh Middleton, a senior graphic design major from Kingwood, Texas, for The Road

Illustration " Jessica Williams, a senior graphic design major from Huntington, Ind., for Rhinoceros Beetle

Book Arts " Nuria Bagley, a junior graphic design major from Huntington, Ind., for Chess with Grandpa

Sculpture " Amanda Hamblin, a senior graphic design major from North Manchester, Ind., for Peter Walking on Water
