Senior art students present UniQue Visions

Huntington, Ind. " Four Huntington College senior art students will display their talents and artistic growth through four years of training at Huntington College in an exhibit at the Robert E. Wilson Art Gallery. Carmen Catellier, Emily Hungerford, Rachel Rhine and Nicole Woods will present their senior art exhibit, UniQue Visions, showcased in the Wilson Gallery of the Merillat Centre for the Arts from April 15 to May 6, 2005. An artist reception will be held in the Gallery on Saturday, April 16 from 6-8:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend free of charge. The Robert E. Wilson Gallery is open Monday " Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and before all Merillat Centre for the Arts performances.
Carmen Catellier is the wife of Gary Catellier and daughter of the Rev. Barry and Andrea McCune from Berne, Ind. She will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design in May. For the exhibit, Catellier constructed brochures and a calendar for the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo with images that children and adults can use to gain a better understanding of the animals at the zoo. These aesthetic images were created by Catellier with the aid of digital photography and Adobe Photoshop.
Emily Hungerford, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will graduate this spring with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art. She is the daughter of Dennis and Terri Hungerford. Hungerford's artwork focuses on the simplicity of fruit and arranged objects in an environment. Posed produce and interior paintings that incorporate their surroundings is the subject of Hungerford's work. The smallest drop of paint brings out the unique art God put into all of his creations, Hungerford said on her attraction to still life oil paintings.
Rachel Rhine, daughter of Edward and Patricia Rhine from Burlington, Ind., will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design. Rhine used original photography along with graphic design in a calendar Grounds for Relaxation as well as a visual portrayal of the Fruits of the Spirit as told in Galatians 5:22-23. It is my intent to meet them [the viewer] at their point and create visual works that they can reflect on for a moment, she said.
Nicole Woods of Greenville, Ohio, is the daughter of Mike and Pam Woods. She will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in fine art this May. Interaction of the elements of design, primarily texture, is the heart of Woods' mixed media paintings. Woods used a variety of textile materials and art supplies she had at her disposal.
