Spring Pops concert returns to Merillat Centre

HUNTINGTON, IN WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 1996 -- Huntington College and First National Bank of Huntington will present the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Spring Pops concert on Friday, May 17.Assistant Conductor David Borsvold will lead the orchestra in a variety of works, including pops hits, traditional classical selections, and highlights from the upcoming Philharmonic season.
Included in the program are Williams' Olympic Fanfare, Bizet's Carmen Suite No. 1, Butterworth's The Banks of Green Willow, Stravinsky's Suite No. 2 for Small Orchestra, Barber's Adagio for Strings and Wagner's Prelude to "Die Meistersinger." The Philharmonic will also perform Dvorak's Slavonic Dance #1, Op. 46, highlights from Rogers and Hammerstein's Sound of Music, Copland's Hoedown from Rodeo and The Unbegun Symphony, a P.D.Q. Bach selection.
