Stronks presents December Forester Lecture

Huntington, Ind. "Dr. Gloria Stronks will present Christian Teachers in Public Schools for the Huntington College Forester Lecture series on December 6, 2004, in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Center for the Arts. Stronks' lecture, beginning at 7 p.m., will provide principles in ways that Christian teachers can make a positive impact in public schools. Stronks is a professor of education at Calvin College, Scholar-in-Residence at Whitworth College, and Director of Continuing Education for Teachers with Worldwide Christian Schools. In addition to her Forester Lecture, Stronks will present two other campus sessions. A luncheon, sponsored by the Huntington College Department of Ministry and Missions, will be held for youth ministers and youth ministry students on December 6, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., in the Banquet Room of the Habecker Dining Commons. The session, Questions Age 12-14 Students Would Like to Ask, will present Stronks' recent research from a survey of over 2,500 students in Christian schools. Stronks has published extensively on educational topics ranging from Christian middle schools to higher education assessment. Among her publications is a collaborative effort with Julia Stronks, Christian Teachers in Public Schools: A Guide for Teachers, Administrators, and Parents. Currently, she is working on a book titled Parenting Children in the Fabric of Faithfulness.
