Student Senate to host birthday party for Lake Sno-Tip

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University's Student Senate is hosting a 43rd birthday party for Lake Sno-Tip at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. The rain date is Saturday, Oct. 10. The event is open to the public. One of the two men for whom the lake is named, Gene Snowden, will serve as the guest of honor and will arrive by helicopter. The helicopter will be flown by its owner, Junior Geiger, a member of the university's Board of Trustees.
Following Snowden's arrival, Sodexo will serve dinner. The cost for general public is $10.10 for ages 13 to 54, $9.20 for seniors ages 55 and older, and $8.60 for children ages six to 12. There is no charge for children ages five and younger.
After dinner, Huntington University students will participate in raft races on the lake.
Lake Sno-Tip, established in 1966, was named in honor of Gene Snowden and Floyd L. "Bill" Tipmore. Tipmore served as the director of development and public relations for the college. Snowden was a member of the Huntington University Board of Trustees.
