Students, faculty attend social work conference

Huntington, Ind.-The Indiana state conference for the North American Christians in Social Work was held on Sept. 21 at the Salvation Army in Indianapolis. Featured speakers were Carrie Yocum, Ph.D., MSW, ACSW, LSW, from Grace College, who presented on "Ethics: Theory, Decision-Making Models and Day-to-Day Examples from a Christian Worldview"; Dr. Tim Heck who presented on "Sacred Healing of Marriage"; and Dr. Garrett Higbee who presented on "Counseling from a Faith-Based Perspective: Does It Make a Difference?" Jeff Bryant, Indianapolis University, was elected to chairperson for the Indiana Chapter.
Huntington University social work students in their junior and senior years attended the conference along with Twyla Lee, director of social work education, and Carla MacDonald, assistant professor of social work.
