Students serve during Spring Break in Jamaica

Huntington, Ind. " While many college students take advantage of the country's sunnier regions for their own enjoyment during Spring Break, several Huntington College students and staff have plans to spend their week serving in Jamaica during the week of March 21-25, 2005. Led by staff members Norris Friesen and Dusty Abshire, the Jamaica team will work with the Happy Grove High School and the Seaside Friends Church in Manchionial, Jamaica. They will help teachers in the classroom and will provide maintenance work for the school. In addition, they will work at the Muriton Boys' Home, an orphanage for 6-16 year-old boys.
More important than the work project, however, we hope to have opportunities get to know the students and share the love of Christ. said Dr. Norris Friesen, vice president and dean of Huntington College, who is in his 11th year of leading Huntington College students on a spring break trip.
