Summer Theatre Youth Camp to stage ‘Fiddler Jr.’

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University's fourth annual Summer Theatre Youth Camp will present "Fiddler on the Roof Jr." at 2 and 7 p.m. on July 25 in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.

Tickets are $5 and are available through cast members or by calling the Huntington University Department of Theatre Arts at (260) 359-4257. There is no reserved seating.

Set in the little village of Anatevka, "Fiddler on the Roof Jr." tells the story of a poor dairyman who attempts to stick to the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community while society changes in the growing anti-Semitic climate of Czarist Russia.

This production is the culmination of four weeks of rehearsals by 47 campers under the direction of David and Kristi Shamburger, former faculty in Huntington University's Department of Theatre Arts. The camp is open to all students entering grades kindergarten through 12.
