The FUSE to present Paul Wright in concert

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University's 105.5 FM The FUSE will present Paul Wright in concert Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.

Hailing from San Diego, Wright popped onto the music scene in 2003 with the release of his first LP, Fly Away. After college, Wright was signed to Gotee Records, founded by Toby McKeehan, known by fans as "tobyMac." Wright also appeared as "Special Agent Hunter" in "!Hero: A Rock Opera," which included former dcTalk member Michael Tait, Audio Adrenaline's Mark Stuart and Rebecca St. James.

Wright's unique sound blends together several different genres, which are evident in his music.

"I'm a singer-songwriter who writes pop songs on the acoustic guitar, but I'm also heavily influenced by so many other styles," Wright said. "I listen to hip-hop, reggae, alternative rock, old school jazz and the rest, and it's all absorbed into my music."

The FUSE came across Paul Wright last year after some urging by Shawn McDonald, a Christian artist who performed at Huntington in 2005.

FUSE concert promoter, Lisa Paul, is positive that those in attendance will enjoy Wright's sound.

"When listening to Paul's music, it's hard not to enjoy it," Paul said. "He has a unique style blending hip-hop and acoustic. While looking through his MySpace and YouTube videos, it is easy to see that he has fun at what he does, and he brings those energetic, fun vibes to his concerts as well."
