The Nutcracker comes to the Merillat Center for the Arts

Huntington, Ind. "The Nutcracker is everyone's Christmas favorite and a holiday treat for the whole family. The Huntington College Community Arts Program will bring this holiday delight by the Mid-Illinois Ballet Company to Huntington College's Merillat Center for the Arts on Friday, November 16, at 7 p.m. The Mid-Illinois Ballet (MIB) is the only recognized fully professional ballet company outside of Chicago, Ill. MIB is comprised of American and international artists. The Chicago Sun Times calls the MIB, Polished Performers, and a quote from the Charleston Times-Courier said, The Mid-Illinois Ballet company danced superbly. It was hard work, but, like true pros, they made it look easy.
MIB's resident choreographer, Dr. Kenneth Bello, is a principal artist who is renowned for his impeccable partnering. He is developing a fast-growing reputation for his ingenious choreography, being recognized as such by having been featured on PBS-TV twice. MIB's artistic director, Michelle Holmes-Bello, is a principal artist who is know for her tremendous extension and ability to bring her roles to life. Her international reputation is growing as evidenced by her invitation as the first American female guest artist with the Yekaterinburg Ballet in Russia.
