U.S. Space Program to be addressed at next Forester Lecture

Huntington, Ind. " David Herb, the Construction Engineer and Construction Manager at the NASA Glenn Research Center, will give the next Forester Lecture on Tuesday, September 23, 2003. His lecture, U.S. Space Program: Past, Present, and Future, will take place in the Merillat Centre for the Arts auditorium at 7 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend. Admission is free. Herb, who visits the Huntington College campus as part of NASA's Community and Media Relations program, has assisted with the design and implementations of aero propulsion, microgravity and communications technologies for the U.S. space program in his capacity as a test engineer at the NASA Glenn Research Center. He will address the recent history and current status of American space initiatives and provide insight into the complex nature of research, development and deployment of the next generation of NASA technologies.
The fall semester's Forester Lecture Series celebrates and explores humankind's pursuit of adventure and discovery in flight, using the 100th year anniversary of the Wright Brothers' flight at Kitty Hawk. Two other Forester Lectures will be presented during the fall semester, each investigating America's commitment to exploration and discovery in advanced air travel and spaceflight.
