Wayne Watson to perform at Merillat Centre for the Arts

Huntington, Ind. " Contemporary Christian artist, Wayne Watson, will perform at the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington College on Saturday, October 5, 2002. The 8 p.m. concert, presented by the Community Arts Program and sponsored by the Carol and Rocky Strickler Endowment and Troy and Dawn Irick, will be a part of HC's Homecoming and Parents' Weekend. Watson received a 2001 Inspirational Album of the Year Nomination. The Gospel Music Association Dove Awards has awarded Watson with honors such as Male Vocalist of the Year, Contemporary Song of the Year for Home Free, Song of the Year for Friend of a Wounded Heart, and Contemporary Album of the year for Water-colour Ponies. He has also had several Grammy Award nominations.
The Huntington concert is just one of many stops for Watson as he is busy touring and doing what he does best " delivering songs that chronicle the vagaries and victories of everyday life, songs that ponder the problem of pain, and songs that marvel at the mystery of grace.
