‘Weathered’ wins film awards

Huntington, Ind.-"Weathered," a film by Huntington University alumnus Matt Webb, was an official selection in the Heartland Film Festival (Oct. 15-24). It was the latest in a series of honors for the short film, including three awards at the Damah Film Festival, including Best Actress (Nicole Parker, an Indiana University graduate who recently finished a stint in the Broadway production of "Wicked"), Audience Award for Best Film and Third Place Overall. "Weathered" was also the winner of the Indianapolis International Film Festival Audience Award for Best Short Film in July 2009.

Co-written and co-directed by Matt Webb (2005) "Weathered" tells the story of a Weather Wellington after the loss of her fiance. Webb worked on the project while while pursuing a Master's degree in theology and film at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Webb has taught theatre at HU, directed over 15 staged productions in the United States and Haiti, toured the U.S. with an original theatrical musical revue, produced with filmmakers in Los Angeles and is completing his first feature screenplay, "Waking Up Dead."
