The Huntington University Pre-Law Advisory Council connects HU students with alumni across the legal profession to provide mentorship, career guidance, and opportunities to explore law school, legal careers, and other career paths where a law degree can be an asset.
Mission statement
The Pre-Law Advisory Council is comprised of Huntington University alumni who practice law, or utilize
their law degree in a variety of professions, and are committed to the University mission, including the
integration of Christian faith and learning across all academic disciplines. Council members are passionate
about investing in the next generation of legal professionals by building valuable connections with students
and developing a robust network of Christian legal practitioners.

What the council is built to do
Alumni in law-related occupations or those in various professions holding a law degree, committed to HU's mission and the integration of Christian faith and learning, working alongside students in three focused ways.
“When I was considering law school, I would have benefited from having practicing attorneys who could help demystify the profession and expose me to the many paths a legal career can take. That is what excites me most about the Pre-Law Advisory Council — providing HU students with mentors, real-world experiences, and relationships that can help them discern their calling and prepare to pursue it. Law is a profession with a tremendous capacity to serve others and positively impact our communities.”

HU’s pre-law club meetings and events built around the profession.
“I want my fellow Foresters to know that attending law school after HU is a viable choice, that there are many who have done so and we are willing to help in any way that we can. With my practice being close to campus, I hope to help make exposure to the legal profession a component of the undergraduate experience. The Pre-Law Advisory Council will also work to foster opportunities for networking and careers available to Foresters currently in law school or in the early years of their legal career.”

Two ways to be part of the PAC.
“The education and training required for legal careers require an enormous commitment of time, energy and money, making vocational exploration essential for success. The council provides students with access to a group of alumni who work in the legal profession and are willing to serve as mentors. These mentoring relationships will be a high-value, high-impact resource for HU students.”
Faith, Law, and What Comes Next
A panel discussion on the integration of Christian faith and the legal profession, plus a broader look at career possibilities in law or various professions in which one can utilize and benefit from a law degree. Open to any student curious about law school, pre-law status not required.
