Student One-Act Festival

Three Plays, One Act Each

Celebrate HU talent with the Student One-Act Festival, “Cracked Up Classics”! These one-act plays are directed, acted, and designed entirely by students from TH 421: Arts Management Class. Support your fellow students as they explore their creativity!

TH 421 is designed to introduce students to the business of nonprofit art organizations and the functions of theatrical management. Students learn about producing, casting, directing, and developing creative solutions to production challenges from Professor Ryan Long, who loves the one-act festival for its ability to let creativity shine.

“The one-act festival is special because it’s a time when students begin to stretch themselves as creators and artists and more fully realize all the work that goes into a production,” said Long. “We also tend to see a lot more people who have never been in a show at HU be part of the one-acts. It’s a really exciting time, and I love seeing how the students take the opportunity and run with it.”

The One-Act Festival will be performed in the Studio Theatre within the Merillat Centre for the Arts. For tickets, please contact the Box Office, open Monday-Friday from 1:00-4:00 p.m., at (260) 359-426 or purchase anytime online through the Box Office’s website.
