HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University Peer Award recipients for March are Barb Baker, administrative assistant to the advancement office, and Melissa Laraway, coordinator of new student services.
Baker
was recognized by Beth West, education department secretary, because of
her above and beyond dedication and service to the university.
"Barb
is an outstanding individual who brings joy to everyone she meets,"
West said. "Her 'behind-the-scenes' support is greatly appreciated by
many faculty and staff. While I value Barb as a co-worker, I value her
even more as a friend. She has been such an inspiration to me and is so
very deserving of this award."
Laraway was recognized by Deb
James, financial aid secretary, for her genuine effort and interest in
the success of her students.
"Melissa genuinely cares for the
students and wants to see them succeed in their college experience,"
James said. "She displays a positive and excited attitude toward her
responsibilities and the students, and that's something I admire about
her."
The Peer Award, which began in 2003, promotes
acknowledgment and recognition of the outstanding efforts of Huntington
University faculty and staff members. Award winners are chosen and
recognized each month by fellow peers.
