Growing violence among youth has captured the attention of everyone in the country, says Lee. That violence has spilled over into our schools, bringing unwanted grief and notoriety " Columbine, West Paducah, Kentucky, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Springfield, Oregon, and others. What do we know about the factors that have helped to create this problem? Are there steps that can be taken to stem the tide of youth violence? These are complex questions, but we'll try to overview the answers.
