Entrepreneurship topic of next foundation breakfast

Huntington, Ind. " Huntington business leader and entrepreneur Chuck Homier will tell the unique story of Homier Distributing Company at the next breakfast of the Huntington College Foundation. The breakfast will be held on Wednesday, May 9. Homier, who was named Entrepreneur of the Year in the retail division of Northern Indiana's Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition, will also share his thoughts on entrepreneurship.

The public is cordially invited to attend. Breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons. The program will conclude by 9:00 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $6 per person. First-time guests are free of charge.

Today, Homier Mobile Merchants has 22 full-time mobile crews handling more than 3,500 sales annually from coast to coast. Each sale lasts one to four days. The company generates more than $120 million in annual sales now, and tools still make up the majority of sale items, in addition to furniture, general merchandise, and other items that Homier usually sells for 30 percent less than the average market price.

Chuck Homier graduated in 1978 from IPFW with a degree in business. He serves on the Huntington College Foundation Board of Directors and is instrumental in the Paradox Network seeking to attract and recruit mid and high level managers to Huntington.
