Hamer, Loshe named Huntington College royalty

Huntington, Ind. " The Huntington College student body crowned its Homecoming King and Queen during an evening ceremony on October 4, 2002, on Huntington College's campus. Lindsey Hamer of Baldwin, Ill., and Matt Loshe of Monroe, Ind., received the crowns this year. Hamer, an educational ministries major and four-time Dean's List honoree, was crowned in absentia. She is currently spending the semester in Honduras on her seven-month PRIME internship. No stranger to international study, Hamer was one of five students from Huntington College who spent the fall semester of 2001 studying in Israel. Roommate Lindsey Van Gelder of Berne, Ind., accepted the crown on Hamer's behalf.
Loshe, an Elementary Education major, is a member of the Forester men's tennis team and a Dean's List honoree. He is also very active in the Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service, has led small groups and served as a campus leader for Ekklesia, a student-run evening chapel service.
Other seniors nominated for the honor of Homecoming royalty included Jeremy Nei, a Business Management major from Huntingtion, Ind., Clarissa Barker, an Elementary Education major from Wyanet, Ill., Natalie Guenin, an Elementary Education major from Wabash, Ind., Jordan Phillips, a Chemistry major from Mansfield, Ohio, Katie Arens, an Elementary Education major from LaGrange, Ill., and Tim Caldwell, a Recreational Management major from Mansfield, Ohio.
Representing the freshmen class were court attendants Jami Fiedler, a Cross Cultural Educational Ministries major from Huntington, Ind., and Nigel Berry, a Youth Ministries major from Rochester, Ind. Sarah Harper, a Psychology major from Silver Lake, Wis., and Dwight Simon, a History major from Roanoke, Ind., represented the sophomore class. Rounding out the Homecoming court were juniors Lisa Collar, an Elementary Education major from Adrian, Mich., and Ryan Dunlap, an Elementary Education major from Elida, Ohio.
Huntington College is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 60 academic concentrations. Founded in 1897 by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, Huntington College is located on a contemporary, lakeside campus in Huntington, Indiana.
