HU students to volunteer over Fall Break
HUNTINGTON, Ind. A group of Huntington University students will give back over Fall Break by serving in Cincinnati.
The students will be working at the Wesley Chapel Mission Center, helping children from unstable homes or those who are homeless.
"I am excited to bring a group to aid in this situation. I am excited for this branching out and chance to grow in our faith and in our experience of service," said Karen Bollenbacher, the student leader on the trip.
The trip is sponsored by the Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service, a campus organization dedicated to service and volunteering.
Fall break is one of the many opportunities for students to serve at HU. Annually, the JMC sponsors trips over spring break and January-term as well as service days each semester. Through the JMC, students, faculty and staff account for more than 11,000 hours of volunteer service.
